Have you ever wondered about the Northern Lights? These auroras are possibly the most whimsical and magical sight to see. Can you image staring up at a dark sky filled with stars and seeing streams of colors swirling in the quiet night sky? It must be an awe-filled experience. I’ve been studying these aurora borealis and how they come about in the atmosphere in my meteorology class. Its all very scientific, but more generally, they are the result of solar storms. And lucky for us, there have been strong solar storms recently which have triggered the most recent sight of the southern and northern lights.
how beautiful?

Well, its back to school and the endless work and constant deadlines ensue! I’ve been at school for just two days, but its feels like a week. I’m not too stressed or busy yet, but the past two days have reminded me of how important it is to take a break sometimes in order to remind ourselves not only to show up, but to be present. To find moments in our everyday to quiet our mind, nourish our soul, listen to our heart, just smile, and be grateful. Julian Bialowas is a photographer/adventurer who is a contributor to the magazine 16 Hours (http://16hours.com/) and the creator of 365q (http://365q.ca/). He has embarked on a new project for 2012 that not only inspires the viewer, but motivates them to go out and live a better life. The projects is called 52 moments.

52 moments is an inspirational movement that encourages us to act, to reflect, to enrich our lives, and most importantly, to celebrate and share our experiences and moments with the world. How awesome is this?! I’ve already been thinking about moment 1 and pondering the idea of taking action and being fearless.

“Moment 1 // It’s time to act, to learn and grow -to find yourself, and figure out where it is you want to go. Regroup, refocus, share it with us.”
